Casinos operations audit

An Operational or Operations Audit is the series of steps that need to be performed to evaluate the operational activities of a gaming casino. The process is similar to the processes for other types of audits -such as financial audit-, but the operational audit process is a much more in-depth analysis of the casino’s operations department and it focuses on the different sub-departments that are interconnected (live games tables, slot machines, poker, betting, cash register, reception).

The goal of the Operational Audit is to determine whether the company’s internal regulations, such as policies and procedures, are sufficient to produce an optimal level of efficiency and efficacy. This is essential for casinos, since lack of efficiency and efficacy will generally be translated into lower revenues and a rise in the operational costs. This result sometimes means the casino is incapable of competing and accomplishing the economic goals.
